Our local
Creative Community

First responders keep us safe.  Educators help us learn.  Creative people and organizations make life enjoyable and interesting.  Here are a few of my favorite creatives that serve our area.  I'll spotlight others regularly so

check this space often!

Cafe Appalachia

Cafe Appalachia is designed as a place where one can find so much that is good.
They serve food that is creative
and delicious
and  healthy.
The restaurant's on-site garden
provides amazing, fresh produce.

Somehow, they've furnished
their restaurant in a
modern-retro-funky-calming style
that is a pleasure to behold.
But the best thing, by far, is their mission.
Check out their story here:

Huntress Studio

Lex Hunter is a local artist who explores
many mediums, especially digital works
with a style that I find
bold, clean and delightfully dramatic.
And , if that's not enough, Lex is the creator of a "hauntingly wholesome"
comic that you'll love!

the empty glass

In the words of Shawn Beckner of The Herald Dispatch...

One can't talk about the Charleston music scene without first mentioning The Empty Glass.

Legends have played there, and legends have been made there for decades.

Drop in at the Glass on any given night, and you'll be treated to a quality performance every time.
